On December 2, 2025, the Mediterranean Migration & Asylum Policy Hub (MedMA) organised the workshop Stand & Deliver: How to Build a Powerful Narrative at its premises in Athens, Greece, bringing together 15 civil society representatives working in migration and asylum in Greece.
The session was facilitated by Frank Sharry, founder of America’s Voice and a migration policy and communications expert with over 40 years of experience. Drawing on his extensive background, Frank guided participants through a practical framework for developing and delivering clear, compelling public messages related to migration.
The workshop aimed to strengthen participants’ narrative skills. Attendees examined the communication strategies they use with the public, the media, and in awareness campaigns. They were invited to rethink an existing narrative around a priority issue for their organisation by framing the main challenges, proposing solutions, and connecting their message to core principles and values of their audience.
Participants worked in pairs to practise their narratives and then presented their work in a plenary session in an interview-style format with the facilitator. By the end of the workshop, participants had refined their messages with additional practical tools for communicating effectively.
MedMA thanks all participants for their engagement and commitment, and looks forward to supporting further capacity-building initiatives in the field.
