Residence Permits by Category – Eurostat

The data pertain to all valid permits issued to third-country nationals on December 31 of each year.

Residence Permits by Category – DMMIP

This section outlines the types of permits issued by the Migration Department of the Deputy Ministry of Migration and International Protection (DMMIP) to third-country nationals, classified by purpose of stay. The category “Other” includes permits for family reunification, education, visitors, the UK Withdrawal Agreement, and other permit types for which exact figures were not specified. Covering up to September 2025, the Deputy Minister provided a more detailed breakdown of these categories for 2025, in a media interview; however, this information has not been incorporated in order to preserve data consistency.

Note 1: The Migration Permits category refers to permanent residence permits issued by the Migration Department, including Immigration Permits for Investors.
